The studio of the artist Egri Istvan, EGRI VITRAILLE SRL, was founded in the 1970s. It started as a stained glass studio run by his father, Egri Laszlo. In the ‘60s, Egri Laszlo, painter, became part of the first generation of glass designers at the glass factory in Turda, where he ran the design department until 1970 when  he obtained a teaching position by contest at the Ion Andreescu Fine Arts Institute in Cluj.

After his diploma exam at the Decorative Arts Institute in Budapest, glass department, in 1993, Egri Istvan along with his father, Egri Laszlo and later Egri Andras (painter, currently enamel artist), founded the company dealing with design, stained glass production and restoration. Adorjani Jozsef, technician since 1990 is, along others, permanent employee of the company.
